You can create a place on your phone when you are on the "Places" or "Check In" tab, try searching for the venue first. If you can't find the venue, then click the option to add a venue. (tip: if you want to check in somewhere private so that it shows on your history, but not add the place to our system for others to find, you can click the second option after searching for a place). Please be sure to adhere to our style guide!

You can also add a place on the website: foursquare.com/add_venue.

Did you add a place with a typo? No worries, just click on the "Edit Venue" link below the map and then select "edit venue details" to correct the address information that was misspelled.

To delete a place you've addedgo to its venue page at foursquare.com, click "edit venue" (located below the address), and then click the trash can to remove the venue from our database.

For places you did not add:

If you see a place that is no longer in operation, you should mark it closed (it will then no longer show up in search results or nearby lists).

If you see a place that is a duplicate of another, please use the suggest merge feature (if you're a superuser, click the Edit Venue link across the top of the venue page, submit the duplicate's venue ID) or flag the venue as a duplicate in the app.

If you see a place that is inappropriate or should otherwise be deleted from our system, you can flag it on the web by clicking "Report a problem," or if there is a privacy concern regarding a place, please let us know.
