We've heard reports from a few users who received emails from what appears to be "noreply@foursquare.com" (it's not!) about a friend request, private message, or anything else. If this has happened to you, please know that this email has come from a third party that is unrelated to Foursquare. Just to be safe, we recommend that you do not click any of the links in the email.

If you do have an account, don't worry! They don't have access to any of our (or your) information. If you don't have an account, there's also no need to worry: you have not been signed up for Foursquare.
