Adjust settings for updates from places and brands

You may have noticed updates in your activity stream (the friends tab on iPhone) from pages and businesses that you ‘like’ or check in to often on Foursquare. These look similar to check-ins and other stories, and will pop up from time to time. They might remind you when you’re nearby that place and tell you what’s shakin’, or to let you know when there’s a special deal going on, or that a cool event is happening there.

We show you updates from places close by. That means you’ll only get updates from your favorite Bay Area coffee shops when you’re in San Francisco, and from your oft-frequented Brooklyn dive bars when you’re in Williamsburg.

Turn off updates
Like a place, but want to turn off its updates for awhile? Tap through the most recent update, swipe to the bottom of the detail screen, and tap the ‘updates from [name] are on’ to opt out.

Want to get more updates on your phone from nearby locations? Like them on Foursquare and we’ll send some your way!
