Foursquare merchant tools allow managers to control all of their venues easily whether they are individual locations or chains. This ability gives you tremendous access to potential customers as you can target them on a large or customize scale.

1. To start, drag your mouse cursor over your name at the top right of the screen to view the Account Selection Menu where you can access your accounts and venues.

From this menu you can select which account you would like to control. The different types of accounts you will see are:

  • brand page
  • user account
  • venues

2. The account that you select will appear on a yellow colored bar (the navigation bar) at the top of your screen. For the manager of a single page (ESPN) or a single location (Joe’s Coffee Shop), the navigation bar simply reminds the manager which page/location they’re currently managing.

For a chain, however, the manager bar indicates whether you are controlling:

  1. at a chain level (as all locations in the Starbucks chain)
  2. at a location group level (as “Northeast US Starbucks,” a group set up by the managers)
  3. as an individual location (the Starbucks at 13 Astor place)

For several of our tools, including specials, updates, and your dashboard, chain managers will see an option to select single or multiple venues. (see below)

If you choose to select a single venue, you will notice that the yellow navigation bar changes to reflect this. (see below)
