Get the most out of the specials you create! Here are some tips:

Let Customers Know about Your Specials
In addition to sharing specials with nearby customers, there are plenty of creative ways to promote your specials in-store and online. And, while there’s no best way to promote your presence, we’ve seen some pretty awesome things:

  • Petco put up loads of custom signs to tell customers their latest special.
  • Walgreens posted Foursquare stickers in all their stores.
  • Arby’s reserves tables for mayors, and countless businesses use Twitter, Facebook, and their sidewalk blackboards.

The Foursquare community loves creative specials!

Redeeming Specials
Once you’ve got your special up and running, here are some best practices to make redemption as seamless as possible for you and your customers, keep the following in mind:

  • Your staff can easily tell when a person has ‘unlocked’ a special (and can redeem it) – the app shows when the special is unlocked, and the color changes from gray to bright orange.
  • If your registers require a code for discounts, we suggest adding that code into the special. For instance, it can say: ‘tell the waiter the discount code is ‘4sqDiscount’
