If you have a phone that doesn't have a web browser (or do not have a phone with a supported app--check here to see which devices we support) and you would like to check in on foursquare via text message, you can use our new SMS shortcode (368266) to check in. Follow the simple instructions below to get set up!  

1. To get started, go to http://dotgo.com/res/foursquare/ on your computer and click to authorize your phone (you'll be asked to log in to your foursquare account).

2. When you receive a unique pin number, use your mobile phone to text "foursquare + pin#" to DOTCOM (368266).

3. Once authorized, you'll see a menu of actions. For example, text "3 empire state building" to 368266 to check in to the Empire State Building. You can always text "foursquare" to 368266 to see the menu again.

4. Want to check in with one text? Text "foursquare at (place)" [ex. "foursquare at empire state building"] to check in to the first search result for that place. Add the street name or zip code to make sure you check in to the right location [ex. "foursquare at starbucks hudson"].
