Friend Requests and Notifications
Foursquare Swarm is designed to be a fun, personal app for you and your close friends. You can have up to 1000 friends and 300 pending friend requests at once. To cancel a pending request, visit the profile of the person you've requested, click "request pending," and then "cancel a pending request."
You can choose to receive friend request notifications via the app or email, which you can adjust in your profile settings.
Adding Friends
To add friends, go to your profile and tap the user icon with a "+" sign. You can scan your address book, search Twitter or Facebook friends, or search by name, email, or phone number. You can also add friends from the social feed button at the bottom right corner of your check-in feed.
To add someone specific, visit their profile page and tap "Add Friend."
Friends Privacy
We value your privacy. You can limit friend requests to friends of friends by going to Settings > Privacy and selecting "Only Friends of Your Friends" under Friend Requests.
Accepting/Ignoring Requests
To accept a request, tap the notification and choose to approve or ignore it. If it's someone you don't want to add, tap "ignore."
Deleting and Blocking
Visit the person's profile and tap the user icon with the check mark. You can then "unfriend" or "unfriend and block," which returns the button to "Add Friend."
Foursquare Swarm Friends and Foursquare City Guide Followers
Sending a friend request on Foursquare Swarm automatically follows them on Foursquare. When your request is accepted, they'll follow you on the Foursquare City Guide.
Unfriending someone in Swarm won't unfollow them on Foursquare City Guide, and vice versa. You'll still follow each other's tips but won't see each other's location or check-ins.
Swarm messages
We prioritize your privacy. You can control who can send you friend requests and messages by adjusting your settings. Simply go to your Swarm app settings > Privacy. In this section, you can choose to limit Messages to "Friends Only" or "Friends and their Friends," and set Friend Requests to "Anyone" or "Only Friends of your Friends."
