After successfully creating your Swarm profile, we recommend starting by adding a profile photo.
To add the profile photo:
- Click on the profile icon.
- Choose to upload a photo from your gallery or take an instant camera shot.
If the Swarm app won't upload a photo from your gallery, try taking a picture with your camera first (try both front and back cameras) and save it as your profile photo. Then, try changing it with one of the photos in your gallery. Remember, sometimes the simplest solution is the best!
Settings
Language: Swarm aligns with your mobile device's default language. If you ever need to change it, follow these steps:
- iOS: Settings > General > Language & Region
- Android: Settings > Language & input
- Windows Phone: Settings > Language > Add Language
Location: Swarm is location-based, so ensure your device's location settings are tuned in. Adjust settings at both the app and operating system levels:
- iOS: Settings > Privacy > Location Services
- iOS (Background App Refresh): Settings > General > Background App Refresh
- Android: Settings > Apps > Swarm
Notifications
Notification settings are found in the settings area and are divided into three sections:
- Friend Check-Ins: Choose whether to receive notifications when friends check in. You can also mute specific friends or opt for notifications only when they're nearby.
- Notification Preferences: Select the types of notifications you want to receive, such as check-in reminders, Swarm product updates, game notifications, mayor oustings, coin earnings, friend requests, or messages.
- Notification Sounds: Toggle notification sounds on or off with a simple click of the button.
Remember, some devices may require manual permission for the Swarm app to send push notifications through your device settings.
