Account recovery
For security reasons, Foursquare cannot modify your password or login credentials on your behalf. All password recovery actions must be initiated on your end.
If You Know Your Account Email/Phone
Your first step should be to use the self-service tool:
- Reset Password: Go to the sign-in screen and click the "Forgot Password?" link. Follow the instructions that will be sent to your registered email address.
- Verification: If you have not registered your mobile phone number with your account, please note that the verification code cannot be sent via SMS.
If You Cannot Access Your Registered Email
If you are unable to receive the password reset email because you no longer have access to that email address, you must contact your email service provider (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) to recover your email account first.
Account deletion
Steps to Delete Your Account:
- Log In to your Swarm account.
- Tap your Profile Icon (usually located in the top-left corner).
- Press the "Settings" icon (usually located in the top-right corner).
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Delete My Account."
- You will be taken to a final page to confirm the deletion.
Important Notes on Deletion:
- Permanent Action: Once an account is deleted, there is no way to un-delete or recover it. The action is final.
- Data Loss: Deleting your Foursquare Swarm account will result in the permanent loss of all your tips, tastes, check-ins, and associated historical data.
- Deleting the App is Not Enough: Simply deleting the Swarm application from your phone will not delete your account or any of your data. You must follow the steps above.
